Hi! My name is Andrew, I am an operational severe-storms forecaster at the National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center (SPC) and avid storm chaser. Welcome to my site! This project started as a way to optimize planning leave for my storm chasing trips during Spring. Evolving research has pointed to the influence of teleconnections on seasonal prediction of storms. As a hobby of mine I'm hoping that one day we can operationalize these forecasts for the betterment of the the weather enterprise. Using this research I started keeping track of predictions for the coming year. I originally posted only on StormTrack.org, but decided to expand to include my own site as well. Here you can find blog and forecast posts about active weather, and upcoming seasonal predictions. I will also archive all of my past info for futures studies on forecastability of long-range severe.Â
The namesakes of this site Two Dogs are my pups Sammy Left and Ralphie Right When these goofballs aren't pestering me for walks, treats and ear scratches, Ill post here about long-range forecasts and interesting weather.
